The beginning of the church
God provides the Holy Spirit to complete the ministry of the Church
"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."

After the resurrection and before His ascension, Jesus promises to send the Comforter to His disciples. In fact, He says, it will be better for them if He goes away so that the Sprit can come.
The Spirit arrives during the Jewish festival of Pentecost where the Jews from even distant lands are gathered. Even though the disciples are untrained men who have not studied, they are able to testify about the resurrection and other works of the Lord to the visiting Jews in the foreigners' native languages so they can clearly understand!
The Spirit also enables Peter and the others to take a bold stance and proclaim what they have seen and what they have been taught.
The Church grows from this day forward.
